Here are some photos from my trip to San Francisco and the overwhelmingly beautiful Big Sur.
I picked up a copy of Big Sir by Jack Kerouac at City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco and read it while staying in Big Sir. The book was somewhat disappointing and quite a dark and foreboding read for such a spectacular place, but the poem “SEA” at the end of the book was great to read while relaxing on the beach. I bought Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch by Henry Miller at the Henry Miller Memorial Library and read it after returning home. He really captured everything I loved about the imposing and beautiful landscape and Miller’s Big Sur is a place I’ll never forget.
Anyway, I wish I could go to the Big Sur Festival in the Forest…looks fun.
